David, 10, set a national age-group swimming record in the 100-meter butterfly (1:09.39) and New Mexico
records in the 50 backstroke (35.37), 100 back (1:15.81), 50 fly (35.37), 200 freestyle (2:20.83) and 200 individual medley (2:39.29) while competing in the 10-and-under division of the Western Zone Championships. He won all those events. Stephen, 12, who like his brother swims for the Santa Fe
Seals, broke his own 11-and 12-year-old age-group state records in the 50 breaststroke (35.00) and 100 breast (1:15.71), placing fifth in both events, and in the 200 IM (2:27.37), in which he earned a bronze medal.
