Barrett, a senior wrestler at Bishop Lynch High, pinned James Mitchell of Woodrow Wilson High in four seconds to set a national high school record for the quickest win in the 152-pound class. DeWayne Brown of Hillside Proviso West set the old mark of seven seconds in 1992.

Jim Watson
MEDFORD, MASS.
Watson, 56, got his 100th match win as coach of the Tufts women's tennis team, with a 5-4 defeat of Trinity College. Watson, who has directed the Jumbos' women's team to five New England Division III titles, gained his 100th victory as the men's tennis coach in 1993.

Ed Tufaro
POTOMAC, MD.
Ed, a junior at Walt Whitman High, set a D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association Invitational meet record of 10:02.7 in the 3,200 meters while lapping the field. He has a 3.85 academic average and is the treasurer of Project Sleeping Bag, an organization that helps feed the homeless.

Katie Mileno
PELHAM, N.Y.
Katie, a senior goaltender and National Honor Society member at Pelham Memorial High, became the first girl to start a varsity hockey game for the Pelicans and proceeded to shut out New Rochelle High 3-0. As of last Friday, Katie was 2-0 with a 1.71 goals-against average.

Robert McKeague
VILLA PARK, ILL.
McKeague, 70, won the age 70-74 division of the World Triathlon Championships with a time of 3:00:06. McKeague, who competed in his first triathlon when he was 61, also earned the 70-74 U.S. crown with a victory (2:41:45) at the Mrs. T's Triathlon.

Marcus Brown
WEST MEMPHIS, ARK.
Brown, a senior guard at Murray State, scored 45 points in a 108-87 win over Washington University of St. Louis. He is fifth in the country in scoring, with a 25.1 average, and last spring he won the Ohio Valley Conference high jump title by leaping 6'10" after only a week's practice.
