Keith and Kevin, twin brothers and juniors on the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team, each hit a grand slam in an 18-7 defeat of La Salle. They combined for 12 RBIs and 17 total bases in the win. Keith, a catcher, hit his shot in the first inning. He added two more home runs, a solo homer in the eighth and a three-run blast in the ninth, to set school single-game records for homers and total bases (13). Kevin, who plays first base when he's not pitching as the Knights' ace, launched his drive in the fourth. As of last Friday he led Fairleigh Dickinson batters with a .357 average and was striking out nine batters per nine innings.

Shae Brost

Shae, 15, set four American Drug Free Powerlifting Association records for girls in the 14-15 age group at the Omaha Open. The 97-pound Shae squatted 160 pounds, bench-pressed 85 and deadlifted 220. Her total of 465 pounds was also a record.

Obadele Thompson
BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS
Thompson, a junior sprinter on the Texas-El Paso track and field team, won the 200-meter dash at the NCAA men's indoor championships with a record-breaking time of 20.36. He beat the previous mark, set by Chris Nelloms of Ohio State in 1994, by .21 of a second.

Dan Carmichael
COLUMBUS, OHIO
Carmichael, 77, won the Formula Atlantic class at the Sports Car Club of America Run-Offs to become the oldest national champion in the organization's 52-year history. Carmichael, whose fastest lap was 103.891 mph, in a Ralt RT-40, was awarded the Presidents Cup, the SCCA's most prestigious award.

Deana Lansing
KENNEWICK, WASH.
Lansing, a guard on the University of Portland women's basketball team, broke an NCAA women's record by making 14 consecutive three-point shots, which she accomplished over a three-game span. The old mark of nine was set by Jane Ruliffson of Macalester College in 1990-91.
