Lelagi Togisala
COMPTON, CALIF.
Krasnoo, 22, a student at Cal State-Northridge, and Togisala, 25, a construction worker, won the team championship in the choreographed self-defense division for the second consecutive year at the Super Grands World Games, a martial arts tournament. Krasnoo finished 1996 as the top-ranked individual competitor in three National Blackbelt League kata divisions: female traditional Japanese-Okinawan forms, female hard creative musical contemporary weapons, and adult self-defense-choreographed fight, a competition for both men and women. Togisala was rated first in two divisions: male Japanese-Okinawan traditional forms and hard traditional weapons.

Andrea Ament
CATES MILLS, OHIO
Andrea, 14, entered four events and won four medals—two golds, a silver and a bronze—at the Junior Olympic fencing championships. Her victories came in the under-17 women's foil and �p�e. She placed second in the under-20 women's foil and third in the under-20 �p�e.

Joe Goldin
SPRINGFIELD, VA.
Goldin, a sophomore basketball guard at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., set an NCAA record for most three-pointers in a game without a miss when he made 11 of 11 treys in the Yellow Jackets' 94-74 win over Emory & Henry College. Two other players had gone 9 for 9.

Reggie Torian
MARKHAM, ILL.
Torian, a senior at Wisconsin, broke the NCAA 60-meter-hurdles record at the indoor Cannon IV Classic with a time of 7.47, eclipsing the 7.61 that Purdue's Rod Woodson ran in 1987. Torian first surpassed the mark in a heat (7.60) before beating 1992 Olympic silver medalist Tony Dees in the final

Linda Alimi
FAIRFIELD, N.J.
Alimi, 53, retired as field hockey coach at West Essex High with the best career high school record in her sport, 457-55-44 over 30 years. In that span the Lady Knights won 26 league titles, 19 north Jersey sectional crowns and eight state group championships. They won all three this year.
