Chris, a senior pitcher-infielder for McQueen High, tied the national high school record for home runs in a season when he hit his 29th of the year during a win over Las Vegas Silverado High in the Class 4A state tournament, tying the 1992 mark of Shon Walker of Harrison County (Ky.) High.

MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA
Theresa, a 6'3" junior center at Medicine Hat High, was named Miss Alberta Basketball after averaging 27.4 points, 16.2 rebounds and 6.0 steals and leading the Kwahommies to the provincial title for the second straight year. She was MVP of the Alberta tournament and the 4A South Zone.
A.J. Montecinos
JACKSON, MISS.
Montecinos, a senior golfer from Jackson State, won the open individual title at the national minority college championships at Highland Park Golf Club in Cleveland. He shot a two-under-par 142 to prevail over runner-up Aaron Morris from Youngstown State by 21 strokes.
Amy DiAdamo
ANDOVER, MASS.
DiAdamo, a senior attacker on the Middlebury College women's lacrosse team, led the Panthers to the Division III national crown with six goals and an assist in a 14-9 victory over College of New Jersey, which had won the title for the past four years and had a 102-game winning streak.
Bobby Newcombe
ALBUQUERQUE
Bobby, a senior at Highland High, was the top scorer at the state 4A track and field meet after winning four events—the 100 meters, the 200, the 400 and the long jump—and running a leg on the victorious 4x400 relay team. Also a Parade All-America in football, he will play at Nebraska next fall.
Hedy Bloom
BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.
Bloom, 48, a high school phys-ed teacher who returned to college to get her master's, finished her first tennis season at Cal State-Bakersfield with a 10-9 record as the No. 6 singles player. She was South Sierra League MVP in 1967, her senior year at Wasco ( Calif.) Union High.
