Johnny Pohl, Red Wing, Minn.
Hockey
Johnny, a senior forward at Red Wing High, led the state in scoring, with 107 points, for the second consecutive year and was voted Minnesota's Mr. Hockey. He's the state's alltime leading scorer, with 378 points (145 goals, 233 assists), and will play next year at Minnesota.

Dick Tomlin, Kingman, Ariz
Duathlon/Triathlon
Tomlin, 51, a real estate appraiser, was the 1997 world and national champion in the duathlon (running and biking) in the 50-54 age group. In the triathlon he won his age-group national title, was second at the worlds and received USA Triathlon's Male Master Athlete of the Year award.

Dwight Gardner, Miami
Wrestling
Gardner, a senior at Ohio, won the NCAA championship at 158 pounds and was named an All-America for the second straight year. His title was Ohio's first in 20 years, and he helped the Bobcats to their highest national finish (tied for ninth) since 1973.

Josh Cohen, Philadelphia
Tennis
Josh, 13, was the top American finisher at Les Petits As, a prestigious 14-and-under international tournament in Tarbes, France, where he reached the quarterfinals. He's the third-ranked player in the U.S. among those returning to the 14-and-under age group.

Catherine Raney, Elm Grove, Wis.
Speed Skating
Catherine, 17, a 1998 Olympian who finished 22nd in the 3,000 meters in Nagano, established a junior world record of 4:11.83 in the 3,000 at the World Single Distance Championships. She also won the overall silver medal at the junior world championships.

Adam Harrington, Bernardston, Mass.
Basketball
Adam, a senior shooting guard for Pioneer Valley Regional High, closed out his four-year career with 2,347 points. The Panthers won the state Division III crown in his sophomore and junior years and were finalists this season, during which he averaged 33.0 points and 12.2 rebounds.
