Baseball
Cory, a senior at North High, hit a home run in five straight at bats, tying the national high school single-game record, and had 12 RBIs in a 19-6 win over Central High. He then homered in his first at bat against Western Christian to become the third high school player to belt six straight.

Tucker Porter, Nortonville, Kans.
Powerlifting
Tucker, 18, bench-pressed 325 pounds and deadlifted 585 to win the 220-to-240-pound division at the U.S. Powerlifting Push/Pull meet. He also won the Natural Athletes Strength Association meet with personal bests of 501 and 606 pounds in the squat and the deadlift, respectively.

Alicia Salas, Englewood , Cob.
Tennis
Alicia, a senior at Cherry Creek High , beat Heritage High's Julie Mallory 6-0, 6-0 to win the girls' Class 5A singles tide for the fourth consecutive year, becoming the first female player in the state to attain that distinction. She finished her varsity career with a 77-2 record.

Jen Mezzadra, Baltimore
Lacrosse
Mezzadra, a junior All-America at Salisbury State, finished the season with 79 goals, second in Division III, and 96 points to become the Sea Gulls' single-season record holder in goals and points. She also holds the Salisbury State marks for career goals, with 164, and points, with 198.

Monique Henderson, San Diego
Track and Field
Monique, a junior at Morse High, won the girls' 200 and 400 meters in 23.19 and 50.74 seconds, respectively, at the state championships. Her victory in the 400, her third in a row at the state meet, set a national girls' high school record and was the third best by an American female this year.

Mike Scroggins, Amarillo , Texas
Bowling
Scroggins, 36, a pro-shop owner, broke the American Bowling Congress mark for highest season league average with 256.8 pins a game over 78 games in the W.T. Scratch league. He also holds the ABC record for the most 800 series in a season with 14.
