Jump Rope
Nick, 14, won the grand national champion title in freestyle at the USA Jump Rope national tournament in Orlando. After finishing second in his age group, Nick jumped against all the top finishers, ranging from preteen to adult, for the overall title.

Lois Morgan, KINGSVILLE, MO.
Bowling
Morgan, 77, became the oldest woman ever to roll a perfect game when she rolled a 300 during league play at the AMF Ranchmart Lanes in Leawood, Kans. Morgan briefly held this record once before, when she rolled her only other perfect game at age 71.

Cliff Washburn, SHELBY, N.C.
Football
Washburn, a senior defensive end at The Citadel, became the first Southern Conference player to be named athlete of the week in different sports after he made 11 tackles in a win over Delaware. He also won the award playing basketball in December 2000.

Jenny Bruce, MENASHA, WIS.
Soccer
Bruce, a junior forward at Wisconsin- Stevens Point, scored three goals in the first 13 minutes of a 3-0 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater. The victory gave the Pointers an NCAA record for most consecutive conference wins, with 56.

Scott Burnett, DAYTON
Disc Golf
Burnett, 25, won the U.S. amateur championships in Milford, Mich. He led the field of 124 players after three 18-hole rounds; the top four finishers then played another nine holes, and he was the best in that group by two strokes.

Lindsey Weston, TORRINGTON, CONN.
Volleyball
Weston, a sophomore setter at Ramapo ( N.J.) College, set an NCAA record for service aces in a four-game match with 18 during a win against Manhattanville. She broke the mark of 17, set by Toni Pratt of Roger Williams ( R.I.) University in 2000.

Randy Ericksen, RAPID CITY, S.DAK.
Mountain Biking
Ericksen, 45, won the World Solo 24 Hours of Adrenalin in Vernon, B.C., for the 45-and-over age group. The winner is determined by the number of laps completed in 24 hours: Ericksen finished 12 laps of 13.8 miles each in 23 hours, nine minutes.
