Don't go overboard, pal, it's just a hat. Ian Baker, a grinder on BMW Oracle, tried to save his lid as it fell into the Atlantic during the UBS Trophy regatta off Newport on June 22. Baker, who was tangled in the jib sheet, like so many people these days, couldn't catch the cap, but his mates saved his butt. BMW beat Alinghi, winner of the America's Cup in 2003, in the weeklong competition.
