"Who's up?"

The man turned to regard the radio for a moment, then looked back. " DiMaggio's up."

"Who's pitching?"

"Feller."

"Bobby Feller? He's good, isn't he?"

The man smiled and nodded. Silence hung in the room for a moment. Then the radio burst into a static roar, above which the announcer's voice seemed to grow hysterical.

"What's happening? It sounds like something important. A home run?"

The man gestured for quiet and leaned closer to the radio. "Hey, you're right! It's a home run!"

" Joe DiMaggio?"

The man smiled and nodded again. "Wow. That's something, isn't it?"
