Lamar, a 5'10" sophomore guard at Kansas City ( Kans. ) Community College, led the nation's JC basketball players in three-point goals (161) and attempts (393) while averaging 25.4 points a game to help the Blue Devils to a 20-12 record.

CAPE ELIZABETH , MAINE
Kelly, a junior at Cape Elizabeth High, swam the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.96 to beat Kris Record of Brunswick High by .18 of a second and win the state girls' Class A championship in that event for the third straight year.

CHRIS LEGGETT
GILFORD, N.H.
Chris, a senior at Gilford Middle High, finished the 8.2-km course in 22:56.00 to win the Eastern High School skiing championship. With a GPA of 4.37, Chris is first in his class and will attend Harvard University next fall.

Thompson, a 27-year-old salesman in a hardware store, bowled three perfect games on three consecutive days in three different leagues at three different lanes in Ohio . He has rolled a 300 game 13 times during his 20 years of bowling.

ELIZABETH EDMISTON
KINGWOOD, TEXAS
Elizabeth, a two-time all-state senior at Kingwood High, averaged 12.8 kills per game, had 74 solo blocks and 351 set assists, and served 91.5% (including 76 aces) in leading the Lady Mustangs to the District 15-5A volleyball title.

PENNFIELD, N.Y.
Brad, a senior at McQuaid Jesuit, broke the national high school indoor record for the 600-meter run by .78 when he ran a 1:19.56 at the state championships. He also won the national title in the 800 meters, in 1:55.29.
