GOING OUT ON TOP
Maya Moore, the girls' high school player of the year (SI, Jan. 15) finished her season in high style. The 6-foot senior forward (right) and Connecticut recruit had 29 points and 10 rebounds in Collins Hill's 61--37 defeat of South Gwinnett to take its third straight Georgia 5A championship. Collins Hill (Suwanee) finishes the season as the top ranked team in the country and with a 53 game winning streak.

ONE-MAN BAND
James Anderson outscored the entire Jessieville team by eight points as Junction City won the Arkansas 2A championship. Anderson, a 6'6" senior forward who is committed to Oklahoma State, had 43 points on 16-of-28 shooting in the 68--35 victory. He averaged 39 points and 12 rebounds this season.

RISING STOCKTON
The MVP of the Washington State 4A tournament has a familiar name: Shawn Stockton, who is the nephew of former Utah Jazz star John Stockton, the NBA's career leader in assists and steals. Like his uncle, Shawn (right), is a point guard; the junior had 14 points and three steals as Ferris ( Spokane) defeated Kentridge ( Kent) 68--61 in double overtime in the final. DeAngelo Casto, Ferris's 6'8" forward, had 16 points and 12 rebounds and joined Stockton on the all-tournament first team.

THE "D" IN DUNCANVILLE
Duncanville, ranked seventh nationally, capped an undefeated season with a 60--46 win over 13th-ranked Kingwood in the Texas 5A state basketball final. Duncanville was most impressive on defense, holding Kingwood to two points in the third quarter and 34% shooting for the game. Junior forward Kevin Butler, the tournament MVP, had 12 points and six rebounds.
