High has the most well-known senior in the country—USC-bound O.J. Mayo—but the Highlanders weren't a one-man show. Patrick Patterson (right) beat out Mayo for their conference's player of the year award. The power forward, who's considering Florida and Kentucky , joins Mayo at Madison Square Garden , where 22 of the nation's top seniors will show their stuff.

Yankees at Red Sox
Everybody (in the Bronx ) loves Alex (for now). With seven homers in the first two weeks of the season, including a walk-off grand slam, Alex Rodriguez (below) has become the darling of fans and headline writers. (HE'S A HOT ROD, proclaimed the New York Post .) Imagine the love he'll feel if he comes up big at Fenway, where he hit .306 with 10 RBIs in nine games last year.

NBA Playoffs
Life in Colorado is starting to agree with Allen Iverson . The Nuggets' new point guard has averaged 24.8 points per game since being traded to Denver in December, and he has the Nuggets, winners of eight of their last 10 games, charging to the finish line. For their efforts they got a first-round playoff date with San Antonio , which has been just as hot. The Spurs won 12 of 13 before a loss to Dallas on Sunday.

Subway Fresh Fit 500
Kevin Harvick (right) was sitting fifth in the Nextel Cup standings after five races, but in his last two he's finished 41st and 29th, and has plummeted to 14th in the points race. The driver they call Happy will be especially pleased to pull into Phoenix : He won both races there last year.

Return of the Queen
In search of its 18th Fed Cup title—but first since 2000—the U.S. is bringing out the big guns. Serena Williams (above), who is 6--0 in her Fed Cup career but hasn't participated since 2003, will join her sister, Venus, in the American lineup against Belgium today in Delray Beach , Fla. The tournament isn't quite as popular in the Low Countries, apparently. The Belgians will be without Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters . The pair (who are ranked Nos. 1 and 4 in the world, respectively) bowed out, citing scheduling conflicts.

The Contender Challenge: UK vs. USA
Yanks and Brits have had some legendary battles through the years. The Thrilla at Bunka Hilla. The Discord in Concord. The Throwdown at Yorktown . The Brawlin' in N'awlins. And then there's this show, which pits American fighters against boxers from the United Kingdom . They've split the first two bouts. Tonight Contender Season 1 bronze medalist Alfonso Gomez (from Whittier , Calif. ) takes on Martin Concepcion.
