LONDON, ONT.

Berman, 23, a recent graduate of Florida Southern College who has done volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity and the Lakeland ( Fla.) Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Arthur Ashe Award ( NCAA Division II).

Matthew Burdick

NEW HAVEN, CONN.

Burdick, 27, a former Wake Forest placekicker, raised more than $25,000 for charity in memory of his deceased brother, Bryon (who had leukemia), by running four marathons. He also volunteers his time as a high school football referee.

Nancy Olson

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS

Olson, a Marine major, and her nine Drive Around the World Longitude teammates completed a 16-month, 41,000-mile journey to raise money to fight Parkinson's disease. They drove their four off-road vehicles in 30 countries on four continents and went through 10 deserts.
