Cal Coach Fuels Rumor

During a 42-12 loss to Cal last Saturday, Washington fans, responding to speculation that Golden Bears coach Jeff Tedford will surface in Seattle as Keith Gilbertson's replacement, began taunting Cal players with "We're stealing your coach!" and "He's yours now; he's ours next year!" Afterward, Tedford admitted that he might have to discuss the situation with his team. "I haven't up until now," he said, "but when we're hearing things from fans, it's time to talk to them."

Asked about his future, Tedford did not silence the rumors. "I have no idea," he said. "I really don't know."
