COREY BREWER, F
16.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg in Final Four
AS THE LAST strains of One Shining Moment sounded through the Georgia Dome, the Florida Gators swayed and sang, basking in the joy of their second straight national title. No Gator had done more to make the celebration possible than Corey Brewer. In Florida's final two games the long and quick 6' 9" junior forward dominated on both ends of the floor. He contained UCLA All-America guard Arron Afflalo in the semifinal while hitting 4 of 5 three-pointers and scoring 19 points in the blowout. Against Ohio State, Brewer added 13 points—including a key three-pointer in the Gators' 9?0, first-half run—eight rebounds and three steals. Afterward Brewer was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. "I give it to each and every one of my teammates," Brewer said of the award. "If it wasn't for those guys, what would MOP mean?"
