Commissioner David Stern wants to change the rules so that players will stay in college at least two years before going pro. Mid-majors, like Xavier this year, have been thriving because they have a chance to develop more cohesive teams than schools whose stars hop to the NBA after a year. If the rules change, top talents will stay longer and gel better with teammates. The result: a stronger advantage for the big recruiting powers.
