Wayne , a junior at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High, set a national record in the 55-meter hurdles (7.06 seconds) and tied the 60 hurdles mark (7.62) at the Nike indoor nationals. Last spring he set a sophomore record in the 110 hurdles (13.65) at the Nike outdoor nationals.

Nneka, a senior forward at Cy-Fair High, averaged 18.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.5 steals to lead the Bobcats to a 39--2 record and their first Class 5A title; she was named Gatorade 's national player of the year and its Texas player of the year, the latter for the second time. She has committed to Stanford .

Jimerson, a junior at St. Cloud State , won Division II titles in the one-and three-meter dives. A six-time All-America, he was named national male diver of the year and is a three-time North Central Conference diver of the year. He has never finished lower than fourth at an NCAA meet.
