TROUT: TENNESSEE : Little Tennessee River producing good catches of rainbows to 21 inches, OG in Smokies thanks to rain, cooler weather. MAINE : Musquacook Lakes yielding big brookies; "Barrel Hole" at Fourth Musquacook best bet for dry fly, OG next ten days.

MONTANA : FG on all northern Rocky Mountain streams; best bets Madison , Gallatin, South and Middle Forks of Flathead. One-day National Trout Derby on Yellowstone River won by 4-pound, 5� ounce brown last Saturday. OG on most streams through August.

OREGON : Santiam River near Salem L, C, FG for rainbows to 17 inches, some cutthroat; dry flies (variants, Light Cahill ) best in evening.

COLORADO : 9 pound 7 ounce German brown from Antero Reservoir on casting rod and hardware last week, also 9-pound brown on spinning rig and wobbler. Most streams receding after recent rains. Gunnison River L, C, F, OF; North Fork of South Platte L, C, F, OP; St. Louis Creek (where Ike fishes) L, C, F, OP; COLORADO : (Middle Park area) L, C, FF, OF; ( Glenwood Springs area) N, D, F, OF.

BRITISH COLUMBIA : Lakes along Cariboo Highway producing limit catches of Kamloops trout to 3� pounds. Vancouver Island lakes giving up nice cutthroat, with big trout off mouths of coastal rivers. Nile and Waterloo Creeks best bets; OG on all streams.

WASHINGTON : Sea-run cutthroat hitting well on Cowlitz and North Fort Lewis Rivers.

SMALLMOUTH BASS: PENNSYLVANIA : Susquehanna River up slightly with rains last week but still low, with FP in Harrisburg area, better upstream. Juniata River and Lycoming Creek producing well.

MISSOURI : Lower Gasconnade two feet below normal, muddy, but yielding limits of bass (mostly small). Big bass coming from Clearwater Lake on surface plugs, dawn and dusk.
