Forget Me Not

After watching Lorena Ochoa climb to No. 1 and win five times this year, Annika Sorenstam used the Stanford to show she remains a force

Sorenstam, told of Creamer's remarks, wouldn't admit to ever having suffered from shaking hands. "I mean, you get a little extra adrenaline and maybe a few extra butterflies," she said, then smiled. "That's what I love. I mean, that's why I do this."

Sorenstam's bluntness is something I'll always cherish.

Waterworks Report

Thanks to a $30 million renovation of the Turnberry Isle Resort & Club, the LPGA continues to lead the PGA Tour in the all-important Florida Waterfalls category. The Ray Floyd-designed Soffer course has two aquadrops: a Gilligan's Island-style tropical spillway behind the 10th green and a 64-foot plunge off a rock wall at the island-green 18th (above). The latter is advertised as "the largest in the state," which is sure to infuriate a certain reality-show star. ( West Palm Beach's Trump International Golf Club, another LPGA venue, boasts a 27-foot waterfall.)

Alas, Turnberry Isle's claim is false. Falling Waters Falls, in the Florida panhandle, plunges a majestic 73 feet—into a sinkhole.

O.K., how about "largest artificial waterfall with throbbing pump house hidden in trees"?

FOR THE RECORD
