OFFENSE: Brigham Young Quarterback Gifford Nielsen , the NCAA passing leader, completed 83% of his passes for 273 yards and five touchdowns in BYU 's 54-19 rout of New Mexico . He has yet to throw an interception. DEFENSE: Kentucky Defensive Back Dallas Owens intercepted two passes—returning one 23 yards for a touchdown—in the Wildcats' 24-20 upset of Penn State . Owens also helped keep the Lions scoreless in the second half.
