WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WHY MARK'S TIP Paul Runyan told me, "Never let a fairway bunker shot cost you more than a half shot." If you can't easily hit the green, lay up. To do so, bury your feet an inch or two in the sand and choke down on the grip by the same measure. The rest of the shot (posture, swing, ball position) is the same as usual, but be sure to maintain a stable lower body and contact the ball before the sand, taking a small divot.
