Entourage: College Sports edition

Creating my top five college sports gangs

They say that a celebrity is only as good as his entourage. The same could be said for college sports programs. After studying the characteristics of the members of Vince's gang, we've created a few college sports entourages that even Vince and the boys would love to party with.

MIAMI: Clinton Portis, The Rock, Warren Sapp, Edgerrin James

There might be no better entourage-producing school than the U. I had to leave out deserving potential members like Ray Lewis, Sean Taylor and Michael Irvin because an entourage can only be so big -- just look what happened on Entourage when Dom tried to play the fifth wheel. South Beach is this group's Frat Row and something tells me these fellas don't make a habit of getting a good night's sleep. The Edge is the captain of this crew, literally. He made good use of his time near the water and has a captain's license and boat so he can escape the thongs, er, throngs of admirers. Having run into the stands to fight a taunting mascot, the Rock is the enforcer. Portis and his assortment of costumes will help the group escape paparazzi unnoticed, Sapp, with his leisure suits, will not only take care of the fashion needs, he'll also happily be the yap-happy spokesman.

FLORIDA: Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Taurean Green

We could name a bunch of Gator alums who warrent a spot a UF entourage, but when you have four members of the back-to-back national champion hoops sqaud, why look any further. Noah is the leader, and though he has his fair share of detactors, he is the heart and soul of this group (if only the other three would stop hitting on his model/mother). Brewer is the lady's man, and isn't afraid to show his softer side -- even if it involves carrying around a teddy bear named Pudding on all Gator road trips. Horford is affectionately known as The Godfather, and keeps a close eye on all the action. Green is a bit out of place -- everyone loves and respects him, but thinks he needs another year of entourage training before he's ready to run with the big boys (translation: stay in school another year, Taurean).

USC: Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Lendale White, OJ Simpson

The SoCal entourage is no stranger to the temptation, bright lights and media attention that comes with being a star. Vinny Chase, step aside. Ladies love Leinart and his Hollywood dimples. He's been associated with everyone from Paris Hilton to Lindsey Lohan to Alyssa Milano. Bush, with those huge diamond earrings, manages the financial situation and gets a good deal on housing for the rest of the group. An entourage needs a member who can cook, just like Johnny Drama. After his draft day slide, it's pretty obvious that White loves to eat so he probably picked up a few skills in the kitchen. Lastly, OJ brings the intimidation factor. Would you risk messing with OJ?

NOTRE DAME: Brady Quinn, Jerome Bettis, Rocket Ismail, Tommy Zbikowski

Okay, so South Bend ain't Vegas, Miami or L.A., but this might be the most loveable entourage on the list. As shown by the 2006 Super Bowl coverage, everybody loves The Bus. The man has a smile that, especially after winning a ring, gives him a big teddy bear look and makes him a hit with all age groups. That's good, because Quinn and his movie star looks monopolize the teen fan base -- he's consistantly hounded by gaggles of screaming teens like Ari's daughter. The problem in so many entourages is that all members want to always be heard. Not so with this group. Ismail, renowned for being the quiet type, won't ever step on toes -- he's too quick for that. Tommy Z, also not one to mince words, provides protection for the rest of the group. The man who knocked out his first pro boxing opponent in less than fifty seconds performs crowd-control for the rest of the crew.

DUKE: Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley, JJ Redick, Shane Battier
