 The Broadway Blueshirts hoped their veteran-led lineup and the distraction factor of notorious agitator Sean Avery (16) would be enough to upset the promising young Penguins. Unfortunately for New York, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (2-0 shutout in Game 2) continued to show why Pittsburgh chose him first overall in 2003. Avery ended up in the hospital with a lacerated spleen suffered in Game 5.
