![]() Unbeknownst to the Mets, Johan Santana pitched most of September with a torn meniscus, including a three-hit shutout of the Marlins on the next to the last day of the regular season. This after he had thrown a career-high 125 pitches three days earlier, in yet another victory that kept the Mets' playoff hopes alive. He had his best month in September, going 4-0 with a 1.83 ERA.
